A short video that I have produced for the make-up brand ZA for the roadshow and launching of their new series of eye liners, which was happening during a Japanese comic and animation event. They wanted 3 characters design at first, each representing an eyeliner in the series (bold, delicate, and sharp), and instead of having a comic drawn out to tell their personalities, I proposed (and succeeded) to produce a short simple animation that does the same job, and in a quicker way too.
The brief of the 3 characters are:
1. The Bold one and the leader, is a fire element, has a sturdy katana.
2. The Sharp one, a cheerful character with a water element, has a long thin katana.
3. The Delicate one, a sweet samurai girl with an earth element, has a double ended katana.
Based on this brief, I started to sketch out my rendition of the characters after doing some research on the costumes and the katana poses. Designing the costumes are the tricky part, because there would be models hired to cosplay these 3 characters at the roadshows. so I have to take into consideration of the time and challengers to tailor-made these costumes.
